About the role
We are a fast-growing company looking for a smart self-starter in a full-time role working amongst a team environment in the Assistance Animal department. This position involves analyzing ESA (emotional support animal) letters against matching requestor profiles (persons seeking accommodation for their assistance animals) and team spreadsheets and contacting provider offices to request verification of authenticity. Qualified candidate will need to make reasonable decisions in a fast-moving environment, have excellent proofreading, research and customer support skills and be comfortable utilizing basic to intermediate tech and database entry skills.
This is a hybrid role that requires some days in office and some days remote. Applicants should be local to the Mooresville, NC or Lake Norman area or willing to relocate.
What are the initial responsibilities for this role?
We receive many requests from prospective tenants in housing who are seeking accommodation as disabled persons for their assistance animals under the Fair Housing Act. Once applications pass out of the “review process”, their letters/profiles are ready for verification which is the last step in the recommendation process. As a Verifier, you will need to promptly call, fax, sequence or direct email a provider’s office and verify those ESA requests for authenticity. At times you will need to research provider’s, their locations, look for new contact information, return profiles for patient identifiers, outdated letters or any other letter/documentation issues that arise. Position also requires processing fraudulent letters for written statements once confirmed fraudulent by the provider and forwarding to management/legal department for non-recommendation status. Position works with a team of other Verifiers and reports to the Verifier Team Manager Works in tandem with the AA Review team.

Essential Job Functions:

- Contribute to a collaborative team by sharing ideas and process improvements, while working in a hybrid environment that requires being in the office 3 days a week. Regular attendance at in-office team meetings and training sessions is a component of the hybrid work model.
- The weekly schedule for this role includes working Saturdays, with Sundays and your choice of weekday off.
Reports to:
This role is a part of our Assistance Animal Team and will report to our AA Verifier Team Manager. Candidate will work closely with the whole Assistance Animal Review & Verifier teams.

Schedule:
- Flex Scheduling: Monday to Friday; Tuesday to Saturday, or Thursday to Sunday. Able to pick own 8-hour schedule. (All Mondays & Fridays are REMOTE) After one month in position will be able to join in additional flex scheduling.

Experience:
- Customer Support, Administrative, Education, Tech Support (Ideal/Not Required). Ideal: vet tech, vet admin, medical tech or medical admin experience a+. Compliance: 1 year (Required)
