What We Do:
PetScreening™ is the fastest growing pet-property tech SaaS company. We help property managers and housing providers manage residents' pets and assistance animals (service animals/emotional support animals/companion animals/etc.). Our proprietary screening platform adds an additional layer of liability protection by having a standardized process when dealing with household pets and assistance animals.

PetScreening has a pet-friendly office located in the heart of the Merino Mill in Mooresville, NC (Lake Norman area). Our large office provides space for independent, team, and large group collaboration within several different types of work spaces. PetScreening is expanding its Product Design Team and is looking for a mid-level Product Designer to contribute to our user-centered digital experiences.
Your impact
As a Product Designer at PetScreening, you’ll play a hands-on role in shaping features and optimizing our platform. You’ll collaborate with design, product, and engineering teams, using feedback to refine your work and ensure exceptional usability and visual polish.
This role is perfect for someone who wants to level up their product design skills, deepen their understanding of user needs, and work within and improve a growing design system. You’ll have opportunities to prototype, conduct user tests, and iterate based on insights—all while helping PetScreening continue to elevate digital experiences across our platform.
Who we're looking for
We’re looking for a passionate and adaptable designer who thrives in ambiguous environments, excels at creative problem-solving, and embraces a user-centered design approach. The ideal candidate is highly organized, collaborative, and eager to tackle complex challenges alongside cross-functional teams. As part of our multidisciplinary Product team, you’ll play a versatile role—leveraging UX research, refining UI design, and contributing to strategic decisions. You won’t be working alone; you’ll be supported by a team of designers, engineers, and product managers who share a commitment to delivering exceptional user experiences.
As a valuable member of our team, you will…
- Design user-friendly product features. Assist in crafting and refining effective, high-quality designs that align with business goals and user needs.
- Collaborate & learn. Work closely with peers, senior designers, and cross-functional teams to execute and iterate on design solutions.
- Use and evolve our design system. Create and mature design system components, ensuring consistency across the platform.
- Prototype & test. Build high-fidelity Figma prototypes to validate design decisions through usability testing and feedback loops.
- Optimize for usability. Choose and apply logical UX/UI patterns to enhance ease of use.
- Understand your product area. Develop subject-matter expertise in our platform, user challenges, business goals, and competitor approaches.
- Contribute to the team’s success. Follow design best practices, support teammates, and help maintain a high standard of work.
- Develop your skills. Learn design thinking, problem-solving, and research principles, applying them to real-world product challenges.
In an ideal candidate we seek…
- Experience matters. 3+ years of experience in product design (web, mobile, or SaaS platforms).
- Showcase of your skills. strong portfolio demonstrating polished UI, interaction design, and problem-solving skills.
- Master of the tools of the trade. Proficiency in Figma, with strong prototyping skills for usability testing & validation. Comfortable working within and contributing to a design system.
- Curiosity and research-driven approach. Some experience with user research, testing, and synthesis.
- Continuous self-development. A growth mindset—eager to learn, take feedback, and improve.
- Proactive ownership approach. Ability to balance user needs and business goals effectively.
- Adaptability. You thrive in a fast-changing environment, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability - especially in situations where there may be more ambiguity, you’re adept at problem solving.
- Collaborative team player. You enjoy partnering with designers, engineers, and product managers.
- Passion and fun. A great sense of humor and enthusiasm for building great products. The occasional punny mic drop is welcome.
Location
This hybrid role is based in our Mooresville, NC office, and offers a flexible in-office policy.
