Do you thrive in collaborative environments, influencing product direction, mentoring others, and driving design excellence? PetScreening is expanding its Product Design Team and is on the lookout for a Lead Product Designer who will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our consumer and enterprise products.

Your impact

As a Lead Product Designer at PetScreening, you will set the design vision, guide the team, and work closely with Product and Engineering to define and execute the product roadmap. You’ll take ownership of high-impact projects, ensuring exceptional design quality, consistency, and usability across the platform.

This role is a blend of strategic leadership and hands-on execution—balancing big-picture design thinking with prototyping, user testing, and data-driven iteration. You’ll have the autonomy to make design decisions, advocate for the user experience, and help steer the product toward measurable business goals.

Who we're looking for

We’re looking for an experienced, highly collaborative designer who can define and maintain a strong design direction, elevate the work of others, and deliver high-quality, polished experiences.

You should be comfortable leading design conversations, providing thoughtful critique and feedback, and partnering with stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Marketing, and CX to create seamless user experiences.

As a valuable member of our team, you will…

  • Define the design vision. Set and evolve the design direction for PetScreening’s products, ensuring clarity, consistency, and usability.
  • Collaborate closely with Product & Engineering. Partner with cross-functional teams to align design execution with product strategy and business objectives.
  • Guide and inspire the design team. Provide mentorship, design critique, and strategic direction to other designers, elevating the quality of work across the team.
  • Own high-impact projects. Take full ownership of major design initiatives from research and ideation to execution and iteration.
  • Ensure design excellence. Establish and enforce design patterns, consistency, and best practices across products.
  • Prototype at a high fidelity. Create interactive Figma prototypes for usability testing, validation, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Drive user research and synthesis. Plan and conduct user testing, analyze data, and translate insights into actionable design improvements.
  • Balance business goals and user needs. Advocate for the user while making strategic trade-offs to drive product success.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration. Work seamlessly with engineers, product managers, and other teams, ensuring alignment and efficiency.
  • Embrace autonomy and ownership. Lead with confidence, making informed design decisions without constant oversight.

In an ideal candidate, we seek…

  • Experience matters. 7+ years of experience in product design with a focus on consumer-facing digital experiences.
  • Showcase your skills. A strong portfolio demonstrating high-quality UI, UX strategy, and design leadership.
  • Master of the tools of the trade. A mastery of Figma, with expertise in high-fidelity prototyping and design systems.
  • Communication is key. Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Adaptability. Proven ability to define and maintain a strong design direction in a fast-changing environment—especially in situations where there may be more ambiguity, you’re adept at problem solving.
  • Intellectual curiosity. Driven to conduct user research—intimate with and passionate about testing, analysis, and synthesis processes and techniques that deliver reliable results.
  • Player AND coach. A track record of mentoring and guiding other designers.
  • Proactive ownership approach. Ability to balance strategy and execution, operating with autonomy
  • Continuous self-development. A passion for problem-solving, continuous learning, and elevating design quality
  • Passion and fun. A great sense of humor, adaptability, and enthusiasm for building great products. The occasional punny mic drop is welcome.
